About Us
Hi! I’m Ed Koeneman. I caught the woodworking bug in junior high shop class. (Thank you Mr. Decker!) Fast forward through 25 years in the medical device industry and 5 years in higher education, I decided I wanted to make sawdust all day, every day. Through the years I made special projects for myself, family, and friends. A crib and changing table for our kids, a poker chip case for my brother, and many more heirloom projects paved the way to honing my woodworking skills on the weekends.
One thing I like to do is integrate technology into traditional woodworking designs. Mom wanted a new headboard for her bed. I integrated LEDs to backlight the headboard and make the whole wall glow. My friend Jack makes glass artwork. I made wood stands for some of his showcase pieces and integrated the lighting into the stands. I believe that technology can be integrated into classically designed woodworking pieces without detracting from the beauty of the piece. I also enjoy a good puzzle. Check out the photo gallery to see some of the puzzles I have made for various art fairs.
Do you have an idea for a custom project? Let’s chat and see if there’s an opportunity to work together. I think my engineering background helps to steer my designs to a practical but elegant solution that you will treasure for many years.
